Position Description/Overview:
The Labor Communications Coordinator is a key contributor to the Ford Manufacturing and Labor team’s efforts. The coordinator researches, assists in developing media assets and background materials, tracks workflow progress and much more – including interfacing with media – as the company moves toward 2019 labor negotiations.

Responsibilities:
Research information and background as needed.
Assist in the creation, updating and presentation of labor communications plans and materials.
Assist in development of materials for internal and external use.
Coordinate with internal and agency team members to track and manage workflow progress.
May interface with media related to labor negotiations.
Up to 10 percent of work time can be dedicated to travel.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
3+ months prior experience in journalism, communications or public relations

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field
Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Proven track record of working independently and managing projects.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills with an ability to think creatively, solve problems and follow through under deadline pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus across multiple, cross-functional disciplines to deliver results.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel); familiar with SharePoint.
