Fessenden Children's Center is currently seeking a full-time floating teacher who is very flexible and is comfortable moving around from classroom to classroom, providing help and support where needed each day. Applicants must be dependable and a team player. The available position is 40 hours per week (between 7:30am & 5:00pm Monday - Friday), summers optional.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Write reports on a regular basis as required by The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) throughout the year. Communicate with co-teachers in a positive and respectful manner. Able to work in a diverse environment, as our staff, student body, and their families come from a variety of cultures. Position requires the ability to perform with minimal supervision other duties as needed. In addition, applicants must possess strong communication skills, an ability to create cohesive partnerships with co-teachers and parents alike, and regularly pursue lifelong learning, both, personally and professionally.
Applicants must be available to start immediately. Applicants are also required to complete a CORI/SORI/DCF and fingerprinting background records check. Current first aid & CPR/AED certification preferred, otherwise must complete training and certification within 3 months of the date of hire, EEC Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher certified preferred, otherwise, must be willing to obtain EEC Teacher certification within the first year of employment.
