Prof. Thomas Hill is seeking an Arabic-speaking part-time Research Associate for the summer to support the Peace Research and Education Program's project, "Piloting a Global Learning Network for Peacebuilding in Iraq."
Specific duties will include participating in remote meetings with Iraqi university representatives, reviewing curriculum and lesson plans, and summarizing them in English, as well as helping to plan for a fall 2024 network-building workshop in Duhok, Iraw.
The Research Associate would be expected to work 6 hours per week and the position will run July 8-August 31. A flexible work schedule is possible, but the Research Associate must be available for regular meetings that are likely to take place in the morning.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $30-$35/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be a hybrid position.
