Responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling Commercial Lines insurance products. Counsels and markets to new and existing clients in a professional manner to both inbound and outbound leads. Specific sales goals and service responsibilities to be determined in the planning process. Meets sales and service standards for volume, timeliness, and quality. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Company's available services, lines of business, pricing structures and offer additional services as appropriate, to grow targeted profitable revenue and contribute to Credit Union's goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions
Responds to referrals quickly and effectively - inclusive of both inbound and outbound calls.
Prequalifies prospects for insurability and quality of risks.
Develops relationships with clients, and maintains client and prospect lists. Develops a book of business that is profitable for both the agency and the carriers.
Recommends coverages, completes and submits applications and related documentation to appropriate markets. Executes follow-up as appropriate.
Additional Job Responsibilities
Reviews policy change requests and other account activity. Documents file as appropriate.
Reads and interprets technical manuals and insurance information from carriers and other sources.
Communicates with carrier underwriting representatives. Identifies training needs and develops personal improvement plan, taking responsibility for learning and improving technical and sales skills regularly.
Prepares and deliver sales presentations to prospective new clients; follows up with key customer decision makers and to close all sales.
Provide level of professional care for all policyholders and potential policyholders that will reflect positively on SSFCU
Education and Training
High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree preferred.
Requires current Texas Property/Casualty License. Industry designation desirable (CPCU, AINS, AIS, CISR)
Knowledge and Experience
In depth knowledge of personal lines insurance products and usages.
Requires three years or more years of commercial insurance sales experience.
Experience using Vertafore/AMS360 Agency Management System.
Requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of commercial rating procedures, coverages, underwriting and industry operations.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to explain complex issues and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
Ability to generate new business sales, retain existing business, and close sales.
Proven sales track record.
Ability to perform a large number of steps in complex system with accuracy and speed.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
LIGHT WORK: Up to 20 lbs occasionally & 10 lbs frequently. Sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Close visual acuity to perform activities like analyzing data, typing, writing, viewing a computer, reading, inspecting small parts or assembling.
Generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. May provide assistance and tasks at other locations or branches on an as needed basis. Evening and/or weekend shifts may be required. May drive vehicle if needed.
