London Economics International LLC (“LEI”) professional staff members are required to have a detailed understanding of economic principles, strong writing skills, and working knowledge of finance. In addition, they should be capable of taking initiatives, identifying market opportunities, and performing sophisticated and relevant analysis for clients.
LEI is currently seeking Research Associates and Consultants in our office in Boston, MA, USA. Qualified applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of economics, finance, and statistics. The applicant should have an interest in the energy industry, infrastructure, and project finance.
Research Associates and Consultants’ scope of work and responsibilities include the followings:
- Analyze technologies performance and energy market fundamentals
- Modelling wholesale power markets to derive market outlook
- Produce energy price forecasts, construct and analyze financial models, to support commercial transactions
- Research and write about market rules and various aspects of energy markets in the US and abroad
- Provide support to senior consultants in advising private and public entities in regulatory economics in the US and abroad
Candidates should have strong writing skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise fashion. Foreign language skills are a plus. All candidates must be comfortable working in a casual, non-hierarchical environment and must have the ability to travel periodically (must have a valid passport).
In addition to the above, successful applicants for the Consultant positions will have:
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience;
- demonstrated ability to produce high quality quantitative and written analysis;
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- a genuine interest in the energy industry;
- knowledge of statistics and finance is preferred;
- working understanding of at least one other language is a plus.
