Designing, developing and managing databases (e.g., Microsoft Access, SQL Server; ArcGIS Geodatabase);
Producing routine data visualization outputs using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, EVS; Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and/or database scripts (Python, VBA, R, etc.);
Collecting, manipulating, analyzing, designing and developing data visualization outputs using ArcGIS and geospatial data formats, ArcGIS Online;
Workflow and metadata documentation; preparing maps and exhibits using GIS data sets;
Developing comprehensive workflows to automate compilation of data from multiple sources and serve data to models, maps, reports and other tools;
Understanding basic visualization procedures and creating high-quality cartographic products for client deliverables;
Interacting with internal clients to support engineering and environmental projects;
Fieldwork such as soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance; and
Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Training: This position requires OSHA and/or MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. Fieldwork: Up to 50%.
Overnight travel: Up to 30%.

Bachelor’s degree in environmental geography or related science, engineering or technology field. (required)
Advanced degree in geology, environmental engineering, or civil engineering. (preferred)
1 to 3 years of related work experience including the following: (required)
Technical training and strong experience in GIS and database technology at either the undergraduate or post-graduate level.
Experience with database management and GIS for environmental engineering applications, including the ability to write complex queries, automate routine processes using scripts and generate reports (e.g., Microsoft Access, ArcGIS Geodatabase, SQL Server, ArcGIS).
Experience with database and GIS scripting (Python, VBA, etc.).
Proficiency in production cartography utilizing ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to write complex formulas, creating graphs and analyses, and automate routine processes.
Experience with cartography and map design (portfolios are welcome).
Knowledge of global positioning system (GPS) data, other collection systems, coordinate systems, projections, and geo-referencing.
Familiarity with geoprocessing concepts.
Additional skills that would be an asset include: (preferred)
Experience with contaminated media, remediation technology, or vapor intrusion.
Prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting.
Knowledge of different web mapping platforms (Geocortex, ArcGIS Online; Survey123, ArcGIS Collector, and/or other GIS-focused field collection tools).
Knowledge of server architecture and web technology.
Experience with ESRI ArcMap extension Spatial Analyst, R, or EVS.
Experience with three-dimensional modeling and visualization including the process of converting, importing, and exporting the surfaces between programs.
Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data.
Understanding and use of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and GINT.
Knowledge of laboratory analytical data verification and validation processes.
Knowledge of basic statistics.
A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. (required)
