Ardagh Group is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our highspeed manufacturing operations. This is a fast-paced high volume 24/7 manufacturing operation and demands a team player with demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Must be safety motivated and have good housekeeping skills. We are seeking a candidate who has the mechanical aptitude and experience of working directly with production equipment i.e. conveyors sprays ovens printers etc. and knows the importance of proper and timely maintenance of machinery and equipment. Set up adjust maintain and operate printer coater and related support equipment. Mechanic has primary responsibility for production and quality on assigned equipment. Analyze all types of mechanical or operational troubles such as but not limited to form rollers plate registrations over varnish pressure on plate cylinders spindle to blanket toe in ink fountains for ink flow etc. and plans for and takes immediate correction action.

Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Constant checking of machines and vigilance of daily operation.
R-stands and complies with position related safety SOP’s and work instructions, especially for Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Handling, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, SQF, and Personal Protective Equipment.
Check schedule to determine need for changeover or conversion or if scheduled maintenance is in order. Determine if scheduled or permits time for overhaul, repair or readjustments required by equipment
Check machines and analyse any mechanical or operational issues. Plan for and take corrective actions if necessary to maintain optimal quality and production.
Examine for visual defects. Make changeovers or conversions by setting up assigned equipment for change in material, size or product. Operate equipment to try out. Check, test and measure product for quality specifications.
Replace worn or damaged parts. Retime machine action. Make repair or overhaul as required the printer attachments, coating ovens and the internal and bottom coating equipment and the associated transfer equipment and mechanical control devices, short of machining parts.
Operate, repair, clean, lubricate equipment as required to maintain production. Clear jams.
Check supplies and add or change materials. Request or obtain additional quantities of supplies.
Examine, test and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using appropriate gauges and instruments and record date.
Read schematics, prints and exploded views of machinery and equipment. Interpret and follow procedural manuals, manufacturer’s guides and operation instructions.
Perform Preventative Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings and take appropriate action. Perform maintenance work orders as required.
Analyse spoilage as to cause and take corrective action.
Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor-quality material or supplies noted.

Complete an online Mechanical Aptitude comprehension test
Test Basic math skills
Exposed to moderate to high noise level
Must be able to lift 30lbs
High School diploma or equivalent
