Preferred Qualifications

As a developer on the Oracle Data Cloud backend team, you will have a hand in the design and delivery of a high-quality cloud service with the capabilities, scalability and performance needed to match the needs of enterprise data cloud applications teams. You will need deep experience with distributed systems, microservice architectures, REST APIs, proficiency with solving real-world challenges in large data systems, a strong understanding of how to build solutions that are resilient, highly available, scalable and a proven ability to design, develop, and deliver back-end systems.

BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of applied experience
Strong programming skills in Java/Scala
In-depth understanding of design patterns, data structures and algorithms
Experience designing REST APIs, microservice architectures and Docker container-based systems
Experience with databases, search engines, and big data systems
Experience building high-performance, resilient, scalable and well-engineered systems
A creative and growth mindset and willingness to solve challenging problems and learn new skills on the job
Good communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate engineering designs
Experience with agile software development
Desired Skills
Familiarity with Spark and/or other distributed systems
Familiarity with Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics
Familiarity with SQL

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
