Job Description Summary

The Management Development Trainee program launches trainees into a rewarding Oldcastle career. The trainee will undertake a rotational program with exposure to several managers and manufacturing locations across the Midwest. The rotational training period usually lasts 12-18 months. Trainees will develop a broad set of management skills as they encounter a variety of real world business challenges and opportunities. At the completion of the rotational training period, so long as the trainee's performance warrants advancement, they will be reassigned to a business unit to assume a site leadership role.

Trainees will spend time with 3-4 operational managers who will engage the trainee in specific process improvement initiatives as well as involve the trainee in day-day site management and problem solving activities.
The trainee should expect to gain knowledge in production planning, manufacturing processes, safety and quality programs, and employee management.
Trainees will be assigned an executive mentor to aid in their growth process

Requirements

Willingness to travel extensively throughout the rotational program and availability to relocate to receive a permanent assignment
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent work or Military experience
Five years of experience developing real world leadership and/or managerial skills
Problem solving skills
Conflict management skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
