Job purpose

The Financial Systems Accountant will assist the Financial Systems Administrator with all aspects of ERP support and system accuracy. Duties will includes accounts receivable posting and clean-up, assist credit department with customer statement integrity, accounts payable processing and clean-up, preparing and recording journal entries for month-end close, balance and analyze general ledger accounts, create and reconcile internal accounts receivable reports. Develop and maintain processes for both accounting and operations. This position will receive direction from Financial Systems Administrator and work with them to troubleshoot and resolve system problems and issues.

Duties and responsibilities

Work with Credit and A/R departments to identify ERP system problems and issues.
Provide assistance in accounts receivable posting, matching customer debits and credits, applying unapplied cash, and customer statement integrity.
Research and resolve A/R systems issues.
Coordinate and work with accounting, IT dept. and operations on system related issues.
Create and reconcile AR ageing reports monthly.
Assist in building ERP system efficiencies and functionality.
Monitor system integrity reports related to accounting and oversee resolution.
Work with AP department on processing and clean-up.
Prepare and record monthly journal entries.
Work with operations to develop and train procedures related to customer statements.
General ledger account reconciliation.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
5-6 years General Accounting Experience required.
Preferred Experience in A/R, A/P, and General Accounting.
JD Edwards, EQUIPIQ or similar systems experience required.

Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze large data sets and adopt effective course of action.
Good people skills with ability to communicate well with others throughout the organization.
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of computer software programs (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word) to facilitate accounting operations.
Must be a team-player who can also work independently.

Working Conditions

Typical hours of operation, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM
Weekend hours as necessary, some adjustments to starting and quitting time as workload requires.
Office/Indoor work may be required
Physical demands include: Walking, standing, sitting at a desk, typing on keyboard, viewing and reading computer monitor, and using telephone. Lift up to 20 lbs. Use hands and arms to reach, touch, handle objects. Frequent talking, hearing, and reading are also required to perform regular job functions.
