O’Brien Wire Products, Inc. Is a US based company with an office and production plant located in Houston, Texas. The company was founded in 1958, where they built and manufactured wire tie machines. We manufacture welded wire mesh for the use in precast and cast-in place concrete structures. We are currently looking to fill 3rd Shift General Laborer position. We are looking for a candidate that will be inspired by the goals of O’Brien Wire Products. The right candidate is going to be challenged and appreciated, while being encouraged to enhance self/team growth. The General Laborer position assists the Machine Operator during production in a manufacturing plant. Moving, bundling, and preparing finished product to be loaded. Clean machines and maintain neat work area and any other general duties as needed. Full time position with Shift Differential pay with weekly OT, paid weekly and company Benefits.

Hiring for 3rd Shift Helper/Backup Operator

3rd Shift -10:00 pm - 6:00 am, Monday- Friday nights and Sunday night, 48-hour workweek.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to be standing for 8 hours or more a day. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb, or kneel. The employee must frequently shift /move between 45 lbs to 550 lbs continuously, amount and size vary from day to day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to pull between 45-550 lbs continuously- amount and size varies day to day.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
  • Follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Must be willing to work OT as needed.
  • Must be punctual and show up on time ready for work.
  • Team player with the ability to take direction.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Experience in working with machines in production environment
  • General safety training
  • Welding Experience
  • Forklift Experience
  • Over Head Crane

Work Environment: Warehouse environment with hot and cold temperatures, the noise level in the work environment and job can be loud.
