Job Highlights
The Corporate Controller is primarily responsible for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, technical accounting, government compliance and accounting policy and control. The Controller will oversee and manage the day to day operations of the accounting department, to include the timely and accurate production of financial and regulatory reporting, as well as the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and comprehensive and effective internal controls. As a senior member of the finance organization, this position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Functions
As a member of the CFO’s leadership team, partner with CFO and other team members to develop organizational goals and strategy on how best to achieve sustained success
Provide thought leadership and financial acumen to help solve problems of strategic importance
Lead and oversee accounting functions, including the general ledger and financial close processes, project/cost accounting, and accounting operations (accounts payable, payroll, inventory control, employee expense reimbursements and tax) as well as government compliance
Manage, mentor and lead a team of varied experience and technical backgrounds and promote their professional development
Prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Fulfill statutory reporting and tax compliance requirements for international entities
Ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing in compliance with company policies
Establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies and internal controls to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations
Ensure accounting compliance under GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and advise senior management and others throughout the company on appropriate application
Oversee internal, external, Government and tax audits including coordinating with auditors, preparing required items and investigating findings and recommendations
Support preparation of DCAA incurred cost submissions and negotiation of questioned costs
Lead transformation initiatives by identifying and implementing related process and system improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline accounting and financial reporting activities
Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases and work closely with required financial system support groups on upgrades and enhancements
Work closely with business units in support of project execution
Partner with FP&A, Treasury and Program Finance to promote best practices for sound financial performance and reporting
Keep abreast of new requirements in financial accounting/reporting and government regulations and implement changes to comply
As required, lead financial and accounting integration of acquisitions and support due diligence activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
25 years of experience to include 15 years of government contracting and financial management experience with increasing responsibilities
Experience managing and developing staff
Strong project accounting background
Deep knowledge of GAAP, FAR and CAS
Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices
Strong Deltek Costpoint proficiency
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced and changing environment
Innovative mind-set with ability to independently initiate and manage change
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong executive presence

Preferred Qualifications
Software as a Service (SaaS) ERP selection and implementation experience
Financial control and accounting experience in a company with multiple legal entities (domestic and international)
Financial reporting and accounting experience working for a publicly traded company
Familiarity with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers
