As Assistant Human Resources Director, you'll manage Human Resource (HR) activities in a hotel / service environment. You will work closely with hotel management, to implement strategies, processes and programs. You'll also address and resolve complex employee inquiries on a wide range of HR topics, such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruitment, training, worker’s compensation, FMLA, etc. Using your judgment, you'll determine resolution or whether issues need to be escalated to the Vice President of Corporate Human Resources.
Supervisors are fundamentally responsible for ensuring safety. This may include but is not limited to participating as a member of a safety committee, assist in developing workplace safety procedures, enforce and promote workplace safety procedures, conducting investigations of any accidents/incidents occurring in their departments and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents.
Manage the HR activities for associates at the Galt House Hotel
Serve as the tactical front-line support to associates and provide some strategic support to functional leadership on initiatives
Resolve complex, moderate-risk employee relations issues. Escalate these to senior team members as appropriate
Implement high-quality HR processes (including recruitment, performance management, career development, etc.)
Provide detailed reporting and HR analysis as requested. Interpret this data and make suitable recommendations
Support the introduction of associate-related programs or processes with appropriate change management initiatives
Lead and/or participate in medium-to-large projects
Share leading practices, and supervise and mentor team members
Help with organizational restructuring, staffing, leadership assessments or other key HR business initiatives
Computer literate- specifically with HRIS.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a hotel environment
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification
A minimum of 10 or more years of experience in HR
Experience in managing medium-to-large projects
Solid knowledge of current HR law and practices
Confident in interacting with and influencing individuals at all levels within the organizations
Project management skills, with an ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently
Strong attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn about business
Good networking skills
Understanding of the internal practices and procedures of a large professional services organization
