b19 Consulting is working with an established engineering firm to find a Relay Technician that comes from an electric utility background.
This is a travel based position, with the expectation to be based in the field for large majority of the job time. Company vehicle, per diem and overtime rates will be included.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years relay testing & substation commissioning experience (15kV through to 500kV)
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
- Ability to drive and travel to client utility sites across the US, with overnight stays.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel & Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relay testing expertise onsite with utilities
- System checks, wiring checking & functioning
- Full-lifecycle commissioning and testing experience of substations
- Troubleshooting & problem analysis of protection equipment
- Apparatus testing & analysis using Doble protection, ProTest, AcSELerator or Renoserv
- Substation lightning stroke shielding plan and grounding plan experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to lead and hold meetings with utility clients
