Assists the Director with day-to-day management and operations relating to the Business Services department, including cash management, investments, and accounts receivable. Oversight of Accounts Receivable functions and ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates, industry standards, and University policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Monitors the aging of accounts and notes receivable to ensure proper collection efforts are made on delinquent accounts. Ensures University collection processes are in compliance with CPFB policies and bankruptcy laws. Makes decisions on accounts deemed uncollectable and prepares the write-off for approval. Works credit balance listing. Monitors the cash receipting system to ensure that is accurate, accessible, and efficient. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the University’s Internal Control Plan.

Responsible for maintaining compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). Responsibilities include requesting new merchant accounts, maintaining devices in the Device Management System, assisting departments with compliance, and working with third parties involved in payment card processing.

Chairs the University Appeals Committee, which hears student appeals of refund, payment, withdrawal, and registration policies and makes decisions as to their outcome. Coordinates meetings and preparation of supporting documentation for distribution to the committee.
- Oversight for communications to students concerning billing, class cancellation, disbursement holds and other student financials-related information. Counsels students with pending loans, other financial aid, and other problems during registration and the semester.
- Manages cash flow for the University, ensures balances in all checking accounts are sufficient to cover checks written, invests excess cash to maximize earnings with safety, and reports on investments monthly.

Responsible for refunding functions through BankMobile. This includes maintaining BankMobile user permissions and passwords, uploading refund and card files, troubleshooting, handling stop payments, unauthorized refunds, and stale dated checks. Monitors CashNet for student online payments and works to resolve any issues.
- Responsible for generating, printing, and filing of the 1098T tax information and monitoring changes in reporting. Assists students with questions about forms and data reported. Ensures that the University billing system is accurate and timely.

Work closely with staff and campus partners to find new and innovative ways to serve students. Regularly evaluate processes, procedures and policies and update them as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or other Business-Related field and five years of accounting, finance, or other related experience with a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
