POSITION OVERVIEW & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Internship will be 10 weeks long during the summer. Start and end dates to be determined.
Gain knowledge of the automotive aftermarket industry as well as the RV, marine, and motorcycle/powersports segments.
Assist in the design, generation, interpretation, and presentation of periodic and ad hoc reporting to management.
Work closely with actuarial team to utilize SQL, BI Data Cubes, and Excel to analyze company-wide data in order to detect trends in sales, claims, and agent/customer behavior as well as internal operational trends and suggest data cleansing rules.
Accurately and quickly fulfill reporting/information requests from Executives, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Claims and clients as needed.
Pursing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics/Decision Science, Mathematics, or related analytical field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Passage of at least one SOA/CAS actuarial exam.
Excellent and effective communication skills.
Initiative and drive necessary to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Prior insurance or auto industry experience a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL (or similar language), and ability to use both tools (and others as needed) to analyze and interpret data.
