PenFed is hiring a PeopleSoft Administrator at our headquarters in McLean Virginia. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the ongoing reliability, performance, management and support of the PeopleSoft applications systems environment. This position will be responsible for managing applications and systems, responding to problems and planning for growth. The incumbent will understand the technical infrastructure standards and requirements for the integration of specific modules, to include migration tasks such as change request review, software build coordination, release documentation, production issue resolution and tracking report distribution.

Responsible for the installation of the new PeopleSoft system including being involved in the design, build, implementation and integration to PenFed systems.
Install PeopleSoft application software and third party tools and build web server, application server, and process scheduler instances for all PeopleSoft applications.
Utilize PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM) to apply selective application updates.
Utilize Change Assistant to install updates/fixes, perform upgrades
Monitor applications to optimize performance and resource use, maintain Security in cooperation with PeopleSoft security administrators.
Provide advice to applications programmers in troubleshooting, exception processing needs, and other data management issues.
Perform complex tasks, projects, or support issues that involve a high level of risk, that impact performance of PeopleSoft applications, or make use of the individual’s high level of knowledge within one or more areas of specialty.
Utilize DBAs to process migrations that allow all DBA work to be completed.
Collaborate with technical developers and set up Integration Broker to communicate and exchange data between other PeopleSoft and non-PeopleSoft applications.
Utilize Weblogic console for monitoring and troubleshooting web server issues
Utilize Tuxedo command line interface for application server/process scheduler troubleshooting.
Available to operate on a scheduled 24x7 on-call basis as and when needed
Ability to work on cross-function teams within PenFed, using strong customer service skills to ensure that all requests and problems are resolved in a professional manner.
Monitor the performance of system applications and maintain a secure environment as well as participate in projects to implement services such as initial installation, as well as subsequent installations of updates and patches.
Education and Experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or related field preferred
Minimum of six (6) years of experience administering PeopleSoft applications in a multi-platform environment required.
Experience in PeopleTools 8.53 and above and upgrading PeopleSoft Financials/HCM applications to current Peoplesoft 9.X and above required.
Experience in using PUM to apply bugs and production support experience required.
Experience as a “PeopleSoft Upgrader” with skills in refreshing PeopleSoft applications on SQL database and tuning PeopleSoft applications in SQL database environment.
Excellent oral and written communications
Experience in PeopleTools upgrade required.
This position will not supervise employees.
