The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. It helps formulate and implement monetary policy, supervises banks and bank and savings and loan holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
Provides customer service and hospitality support for the Bank’s Money in Motion Exhibit and Conference Center. Serves at the initial point of contact for exhibit visitors and conference center guests.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Welcomes and interacts with Money in Motion Exhibit visitors.
Answers questions from visitors about the exhibit.
Provides directional information to visitors regarding other local historical sites.
Works closely with Law Enforcement to facilitate Bank access for school groups as required.
Ensures visitors follow Exhibit guidelines.
Performs the opening and closing procedures for the Exhibit.
Facilitates scripted presentations on topics related to exhibit content and other economic and personal financial education topics as directed.
Works with the Meeting Planning and Law Enforcement staff to facilitate Bank access at entrances, greet visitors, and escort them through the building.
Travels with Bank driver to airport and train station to greet Bank guests.
Assembles meeting materials and guest handout packages as needed.
Enters data in spreadsheets.
Researches schools, teachers, meeting venues, and related information on the Internet.
Works at Conference Center welcome desk during evening and weekend events, as needed. Provides concierge service to Conference Center guests such as calling for cabs, making copies etc.
Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Individuals pursuing a Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but not required. Course work in tourism and hospitality management, economics, business, or finance, preferred.
Previous customer service experience, preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with children, adults, and large groups.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of the Independence Mall area and other Philadelphia historical sites.
Willingness to work evenings and early mornings (Conference Center and entrances), and weekends (Exhibit), as required.
Must be available as early as 7:30am for morning programs and until 8:30 pm for evening meetings, as needed.
Business casual attire required.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and move from the ground floor to meeting areas on other floors.
