Oversee the school’s curriculum, but also ensure that the facilities are maintained, manages the budget and work closely with parents with good organizational skills to be able to accomplish all assigned duties; planning abilities will help prepare and monitors the school’s budget. Must possess leadership skills necessary to carry out the policies that are established.
Must have good oral and written communication skills to direct staff, with parents and the community.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Principal is responsible for establishing policies to run the preschool, for appointing the appropriate staff members to carry out the directives and for explaining the policies to parents. Creating and maintaining a budget - setting fees for children to participate in the preschool’s programs. Making sure the preschool facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with state regulations and must be ready for health inspections at any time. Must oversee teaching staff and help them with curriculum development. Also hire support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. Meet with parents . Must give periodic evaluations of each child’s progress, and deal with children having behavioral problems.
Willing to drive students.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have advanced training in early childhood education administration
Have a four-year graduate degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must complete coursework in child development, teaching strategies for young learners, evaluating young students, staff management and school administration.
Master’s degree or doctorate in an education-related field is a plus.
