Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Libertyville, IL

Starting Salary: $84,245.00-$108,683.83

Job Summary: The general function of this position will be to preform work of considerable difficulty in supervising the maintenance and repair of public water supplies and sanitary sewer systems including buildings, grounds, underground utilities and equipment. This position is responsible for developing and directing the preventive maintenance program for pumping stations, lift stations, well houses, reservoirs and related equipment. In addition, this individual will provide training and guidance in procedures and methods of the maintenance and repair of public water supplies and sanitary sewer systems and prepare time estimates, material cost estimates, budget requests, requisitions for items pertaining to areas within Public Works. The job will require the individual to work outside under various weather conditions and be on a rotating shift for after hours emergencies. The position is under general supervision of the Operations Manager.

The maintenance supervisor must have the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with employees, supervisors, and County officials. Good leadership and management skills are required. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards is essential. General computer skill is required. A high school diploma or GED is required. However, an Associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education is preferred and three to five years of maintenance repair and management is required. You must also possess a valid Class A CDL driver’s license, supplemented by a satisfactory driving record.
