Summary:
Compass Systems is the world leader in providing highly engineered Pneumatic & Mechanical Material Handling systems that provide segregation capabilities for the various alloys of aluminum scrap produced by the automobile industry. The VP of Sales reports to the CEO and is a member of the company’s executive team. Is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation and distribution and channel strategy. This position includes responsibility for business development. The VP of Sales will drive the company’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals. The VP of Sales will also lead the Sales and Marketing Department and will be accountable for the development and execution of a sales and marketing strategy that are necessary to sustain rapid growth, optimizes facility utilization, drives continuous improvement in all process, and generates world-class customer satisfaction with exceptional product quality. Employee will serve at the direction of the President.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The VP of Sales will be a visible model of leadership, managerial excellence, and integrity, and will be responsible for the following duties:
Oversee the hiring and development of a sales organization, appropriate for the company’s maturity/size.
Drive the development of national and international sales strategies.
Work closely with the sales department to develop, establish and direct channel and distribution strategies and programs.
Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base.
Work closely with marketing to develop and execute lean programs.
Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.
Develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and channel partners.
Accountable for the timely assignment of all sales organization objectives.
Prioritizes investments in enabling technologies in support of sales organization productivity.
Responsible for the optimal deployment of sales personnel. Makes recommendations for changing sales roles, coverage models, or team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity. Leads a change management process to build organizational understanding of proposed changes, establish support from key leadership stakeholders, and effectively implement new deployment and job models.
Develops new reporting tools as needed.
Working closely with Human Resources, establishes a sales force training plan focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales competencies. Prioritizes training objectives for selling, sales management, and sales support roles.
Lead, teach, and implement strategies that continue the evolution of Company's Business System.
Create and execute lean engineering and manufacturing strategies to increase manufacturing flexibility and increase inventory turns.
Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team in the execution of top-level improvement priorities and the improvement of other key performance indicators as identified
Monitor the talent pool at all levels within the organization to ensure that world class managers are being developed. Work closely with Human Resources in identifying and implementing programs and activities that drive the development and retention of the sales and marketing team.
Ensure that business is conducted with the highest standards of quality and integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of (10) years of related sales operations in manufacturing business. Capital Equipment Sales to Automobile OEM / TIER Suppliers and Industrial is a plus.
The ability to quickly assess the operational efficiency of a facility and prioritize improvement processes.
Proven development of high potential accounts with sales projects from $5K to over $10M..

This position requires extensive travel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Experience with highly engineered products and/or technical sales, business to business.
