What You’ll Get to Do:
This is a contingent position to support Army PEO Soldier located in Fort Belvoir Va. Plans and leads major assignments. The Textile Engineer III (PEO Soldier), may oversee or supervise less senior staff. Recognized expert, establishes operational plans and implements strategic goals. Responsible for improving upon existing processes (continuous improvement), communicates across the organization and with external stakeholders. Resolves difficult or unique problems requiring extensive investigation. Provides guidance, coaching and training across functional teams.
More About the Role:
Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or assignments, establish goals and plans that meet project objectives, demonstrates domain and expert technical knowledge, and directs and controls activities to ensure that technical requirements are met.
May supervise others. Provide senior level technical expertise in specialty engineering for the entire engineering lifecycle in the textile engineering discipline which include but not limited to:
Interoperability analysis, system standards; military operations (ground, sea, air, and space): program analysis; requirements analysis; program planning; and cost analysis; Performs top level design, development, fabrication, testing, installation, troubleshooting;
Direct and manage complex programs; and maintain overall direction for a program to control overall scope, budget, and schedule for complex, multi-project programs;
Communicate with managing directors and client executive management to ensure that critical program related issues are addressed;
Coordinate efforts with other functions of the organization; Analyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems;
Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes;
Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowable, processing processes and quality engineering specifications; Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications;
May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
BS in Engineering or related technical field,
10 + years’ experience
Current Secret Clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of experience applying the principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes,
2+ years of experience in analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications, textile experience in a DoD acquisition programs.
Recent experience supporting PEO Soldier highly desired.
