OFFICE DESCRIPTION:
The Office of School Support and Supervision (OSS&S) is part of the NYCDOE Division of the Senior Deputy Chancellor and School Support. OSS&S supports the 40+ NYCDOE superintendents, who supervise principals, support instruction and student achievement, engage families, and help implement citywide initiatives to more than 1,800 New York City public schools.

In alignment with the Framework for Great Schools, the Office of School Support & Supervision (OSSS) provides strategic, and responsive supports and guidance to superintendents and their teams so that they are able to maximize time, drive the instructional vision and support plans for schools, and advance student achievement. To these ends, OSSS fulfills key roles across the Department, ensuring alignment between Superintendent and Field Support Center (FSC) supports, divisional priorities, and citywide measures of success. In addition, OSSS collaborates closely with central offices on policy, communications, and process development, representing superintendents and schools.

INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILIES:
The Summer Intern will provide critical administrative and project management support to the operations and data teams in OSS&S which will include the following:

Meeting preparation and logistics
Data analysis, tracking, and report generation for each Superintendent
Managing the Superintendent Master Calendar
Assisting in background checks for C-30 process
Assisting in talent management for Superintendent hiring
Assist with Superintendent procurement
Reimbursement management TRAC/SIPP
Technical assistance for Superintendents
Administrative tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIAL SKILLS/AREA OF STUDY:
Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a diverse array of people, and strong analytical and administrative skills. In addition, applicants should be organized, self-starting, detail-oriented, thorough, and highly motivated. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

SALARY

$14.93 per hour
