The Regional Team Member Relations Specialist provides regional human resources support to our California market. The region spans from Rocklin to Downey. Successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to create a high level of trust and confidence between Area Directors, Field Management and Team Members by acting with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
Candidate must be high energy, organized and passionate about balancing both compliance and culture and continually strive for unique and compliant ways to problem solve difficult HR issues. Must exhibit sound judgement, empathy, and be able to diffuse high tension situations when situations present themselves.
Team Member relations- intake, tracking investigation and resolution of employee issues while ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
Reporting progress and outcomes to VP Human Resources.
Provide coaching and counseling to appropriate party based on information obtained in investigations.
Assist management in documenting and review of progressive forms of discipline. Work with Area Director and General Manager and obtain sign off on all involuntary terminations.
Process involuntary terminations, ensuring required paperwork is complete, timeliness of payment, etc.
Offboarding, coordinate with Risk Management Analyst to ensure receipt of all company issued equipment. Ensure timely notification of termination to payroll.
Coordinate worker’s comp claims with Team Member Relations Manager to ensure required paperwork is complete and administration and coordinate return to work.
Assist Team Member Relations Manager in coordinating and tracking leaves of absence.
Ensure proper documentation is provided to Team Member Relations Manager so that timely responses occur on unemployment claims.
Assist in completing employment surveys or governmental reporting when necessary.
Federal, state and local posted material kept up to date.
Assist in monthly HR / Risk assessments.
Other projects may arise and be assigned to assist with growth of the department.
Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience including California employment law.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
Highly experienced and knowledgeable of federal and California employment law.
HR experience with multi-site hospitality highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and provide mutual resolution quickly and efficiently.
Strong employee relations management skills with proven track record of resolution.
Proficiency in using HRIS technology, Workday a plus.
Frequent regional travel required. There are 7 locations that will require periodic visits for assessment purposes. Locations include Rocklin, Bakersfield, Simi Valley, Redlands, Downey, Monrovia and Glendale. Investigations, depending on the nature may also require travel.
