Location: Newtown Square, PA
Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Finance Manager for our Newtown Square, PA office location to be responsible for overseeing analyst within the Revenue Recognition Deal Support team in the United States.
Expectations and Tasks: Coordinate with the sales organization and ensures the on premise and cloud license agreements are accounted for properly in accordance with IFRS. Ensure controls, procedures and trained staff are in place to review on premise and cloud license agreements and ensure that they are accounted for. Anticipate and understand changes in business and regulatory environment to ensure compliance. Promote the idea of One Deal Support and ensure business partnering. Find opportunities to simplify deal support by reducing the amount of complexity that the salesforce is exposed to. Encourage the commercial business champion role within the Revenue Recognition and Pricing teams. Assist in overseeing relationship with external auditor during quarterly reviews and the annual audit procedures. Work with external auditor to ensure SAP positions on USGAAP, IFRS and auditor guidance are understood to positively impact new rules and guidance. Develop, mentor, and coach a team of associates. Work with all levels of sales, legal, and contract team to ensure that license agreements are structured in accordance with SAP's Revenue Recognition policies and provide second-level support and escalation assistance to those included in the team. Keep North America Revenue Recognition leadership informed and aware of significant issue, escalations, and risks. Ensure controls, procedures and trained staff are in place to enable monthly closure of software revenue accounts and ensure the market unit controllers are aware of all posted adjustments. Encourage best practices in the area of monthly close. Ensure controls, procedures, and trained staff are in place to enable activities for establishing and testing VSOE/ESP for all non-on premise software revenue streams, including cloud services, consulting, HEC, training, and maintenance. Drive best practices in the area of VSOE/ESP compliance. Develop Revenue Recognition training content and programs. 10% travel required.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related and 7 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 5 years of experience. Employer will accept a three-year degree or a combination of degrees or diplomas as meeting the Bachelor's degree requirement
Work Experience: Must have three (3) years' experience in the following: technical accounting, On Prem and cloud revenue recognition, working in cross functional teams with local, regional, and global focus, On-Premise and Cloud Licensing practices, software and cloud revenue recognition experience including ASC 606, accounting areas such as revenue recognition and cost deferrals, performing technical accounting research and applying guidance to transactions, writing technical accounting memoranda/position papers, Profitability / PL analysis and reporting; and SAP ERP systems and software.
Travel: 10 % travel required.
