POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager Supply Chain Operations Learning & Development will provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of Supply Chain onboarding and training activities while ensuring Ulta Beauty’s enterprise goals and objectives are met. The Manager will provide project leadership with a focus on operational excellence to our 5 distribution centers. Strong cross-functional collaboration is critical when partnering with Enterprise Training, Store Operations, Merchandise Operations, Information Technology, and multiple distribution and fulfillment sites.

The Manager Supply Chain Operations Learning & Development will set the strategy for learning and training routines at all levels of the Ulta distribution center network, lead the deployment of new training capabilities, and manage the documentation governance of all DC four-walls processes. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and enterprise leaders (Supervisors, Managers, Directors, and VPs) to streamline process training and new leader onboarding across our distribution centers and will be responsible for leading the implementation of new learning processes. The Manager Supply Chain Operations Learning & Development will provide direct guidance and leadership to their direct reports in the distribution field, as well as steady state distribution teams and corporate Logistics teams. The scope of this role includes communicating to and developing strategic partnerships with several cross functional business units such as Enterprise Training, DC & Store Operations, Merchandise Operations, and Information Technology.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage 2-5 multi-location Learning & Development Process Owners in the development, maintenance, and administration of training materials and routines
Lead the facilitation of cross functional collaboration to identify pain points and process gaps associated with training, processes, systems, and reporting
Collaborate with enterprise leadership (Managers, Directors, VPs) on: process improvement, training development, and onboarding strategies to create weekly status reporting, and prevent resource conflicts between multiple projects
Identify process improvement opportunities for distribution teams and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop training and documentation that defines best practices
Lead the development and implementation of training practices that improve safety, quality, and performance results, and analyze and understand data to propose training and operations improvements
Lead and direct for the portfolio of projects within the strategic initiatives the individual is assigned
Develop cost analysis, design considerations, and implementation timelines for projects
Provide distribution leadership (Supervisors, Managers, and Directors) daily support with training routines and operational/leadership training
Create and manage the implementation of any changes through effective stakeholder and change management
Lead and identify common issues, constraints, and risks across a portfolio of projects through the application of lean principles
Plan and manage project execution, ensuring that development projects are delivered on time, on budget, and consistent with specifications
Support enterprise leaders through multiple projects across multiple sites, assign work, monitor workload, and appraise performances
Manage, measure, monitor, and mitigate risks to various projects, budgets, and timelines
Manage all project administrative activities, training, documentation, and communications of multiple simultaneous projects, including projects impacting other functional areas of the business; within the corporate office as well as our Distribution Centers
Collect and report metrics to monitor and optimize project performance by leading weekly distribution leadership meetings
Mentor, teach & develop enterprise leaders to improve their understanding and skill, and ensure they are familiar with policies, business processes, and work flow
Coach, counsel, develop and motivate team to successfully achieve department objectives
Continually evolve the team through introduction and deployment of industry leading practices

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development of e-learning content to support onboarding, process training, and continuing education of Ulta distribution associates at multiple levels
Manage Learning Management System courses and user enrollments
Conduct training needs analysis and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Manage the tracking and analysis of distribution KPIs to assess performance gaps and develop plans to address via training support
Establish performance objectives for Learning & Development Process Owner team
Develop and implement training strategies, policies, and procedures for standardization of training methodology

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Bachelor’s degree required
7-10 years supply chain experience with a focus on operations
Strong supply chain/process background
Must be a self-starter and be able to successfully develop and execute against departmental goals with minimal guidance
Creative problem solver with the ability to manage and drive accountability across the supply chain
Strategic thought leader able to build robust plans and execute with speed, while communicating clear priorities
Ability to speak, work with, and present to large and diverse audiences
Strong sense of urgency and ability to successfully lead in a fast-paced, growing environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business situations and problems, coordinate many complex activities/projects simultaneously and direct successful solutions
Strong working knowledge in SAP, Manhattan WMS, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project PowerPoint), and learning software is a plus
Good understanding of warehousing and physical distribution concepts
Ability to work long hours and weekends as dictated by business needs
Ability to travel as required
