As the Senior Director PD&C, you will be assigned responsibility for corporate planning, design, and construction for the development and execution to meet facility master planning objectives. You will oversee and coordinate the management of capital projects to be consistent with all codes and regulations and fulfill plans defined and agreed upon by the users and the Senior Leadership Team. Additionally, you will ensure all projects comply with federal standards (ADA) as well as state (TDSHS & TDLR) and local codes and The Joint Commission requirements.

Accountable for the performance and results of multiple teams performing diverse activities
Develops long-term plans and strategies for areas of defined responsibility aligned with established functional strategies and oversees execution of those strategies
Has significant responsibility for explaining the long-term strategy (i.e., 3-5-year timeframe) rather than short-term objectives (1-2-year time frame)
Makes decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives that significantly affect the results of the function
Analyzes key trends and input from diverse and sometimes disparate sources to make meaningful changes that affect long-term results
Approves budget within areas of responsibility and holds subordinate managers accountable for managing to achieve expected financial results
Leads cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that have a broad impact on the organization's long-term success
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and directs corporate facility planning and design to meet short and long-term facility and strategic planning objectives. Monitors, recommends, and maintains modifications to the Master Plan.
Updates are provided to the Senior Vice President of Facilities and Real Estate, Senior Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, and various boards.
Evaluates architect’s requests and suggestions for scope and concept changes. Develops strategies for allocation of space to meet organizational objectives.
Oversees supervision of architectural firms and consultants.
Works closely with Strategic Planning to recommend solutions to a diverse portfolio of physical assets and their long-term use and viability to the system.
Develops risks and assumptions for all solutions and recommends approval and prioritization within a complex portfolio.
Develops budgets and works to reduce overall expenditures on a portfolio in excess of $300M.
Recommends logistical plans for implementation of all capital projects and coordinates with the Project Management team to ensure schedules and budgets match strategic vision of prioritization of funds.
Ensures that Children’s and affiliated organizations are in compliance with The Joint Commission, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to facilities and real estate planning, design and construction.
Candidates must have at least 15 years of directly related experience in hospital planning, design and construction
Must have deep knowledge and experience understanding plant operations, engineering operations, real estate activities, sustainability, safety, and facilities management in a large hospital or academic medical center
Experience with planning, design and construction with multiple pediatric hospitals or large pediatric hospital units is preferred
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
