Production Coordinator - York, Maine
Ready Seafood Company is a rapidly growing wholesale lobster business located up and down the coast of Maine with headquarters based in Saco, ME. As the largest lobster processing facility in the State, we have quickly become a leading seafood exporter, shipping millions of pounds of live lobster, fresh HPP, cooked and whole frozen lobster meat to nearly every corner of the world. We are currently seeking a motivated Production Coordinator to join our growing team in York, Maine

Position Summary
The production coordinator, reporting to the Operations Manager, will be a key player for our live distribution business and will be based at our Portland facility. They will help coordinate our fast-based, non-routine operations. This person should seek and thrive in a position that requires a high degree of adaptability and prefers working within a strong team. The successful applicant will have a high skill level in communication and the use of technology.
Primary Responsibilities
· Utilize the ERP system to generate work orders, receive live product, verify pricing, monitor inventory availability and location, and various other tasks.
Coordinate shipping labels and documents
· Administer our empty crate tracking program
· Manage packaging inventory levels and order as needed
· Work closely with group logistics manager to coordinate scheduling
· Willing and able to lead production team on an as-needed basis
Shipping and Receiving Documentation
· Manage shipping labels and documents.
· Handle all receiving paperwork, including work orders.
· Oversee all incoming and outgoing transactions within our ERP and monitor any system change.
· Manage daily empty crate entries and crate tracking.
· Manage the facility’s packaging levels with the buy team to ensure optimized production volumes.
· Assist with scheduling of trucking
Production Assistance:
· Support daily production tasks such as sorting, high-grading, packing, loading, and shipping.
· Assist the production team in achieving maximum operational efficiencies while maintaining service levels and quality standards.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Enforce compliance with Ready Seafood’s HACCP plan, FDA, FTZ, TSA, and DMR regulations, as well as other regulatory requirements.
Please note that this position requires the ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends), and availability via phone as needed
Other Supervisory & Administrative Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):
· Evaluate labor staffing, standards, and efficiency of entire facility; oversee daily schedules of production team employees and manage total hours, with the goal of reducing dependency on overtime and supporting operational demands and business objectives.
· Assist with daily production meetings to ensure communication at all managed levels for each shift. Inform management on KPI performance targets on a routine basis and provide action plans for areas as warranted.
· Confirm that the proper SOPs are followed with any incident
· Recommend employees for hire and/or termination within company guidelines with consultation from the Operations Manager and Human Resources.
· Assist in the Develop and execution of training for all new production team hires.
· Assist with the Communicate, drafting, and outlining formal disciplinary steps for production team employees in accordance with company policy with consultation from Operations Manager.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (ERP system experience a plus).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
