Summary of Duties: The Wound Care Manager is a Master's prepared nurse that is an operational manager designated as the leader for a specified nursing area or areas, its patient population and assigned staff, who has 24 hour responsibility and accountability for all patient care activities, unit operations, and staff competency. This position has accountability for Outpatient and Inpatient wound services.
Educational Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent required. BSN required. Graduate of a recognized JRCRTE/AMA approved 2 year Respiratory Therapy program preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: RN licensed with the State of California. Certified as a Wound Specialist. BLS, ACLS preferred.
Experience Requirements: At least three years of nursing experience and/or past expertise in nursing management or the Wound Care specialty within last 5 years..
Special Skills or Abilities: Proven proficiency with managing dept budget, schedules, job descriptions, annual evals, and general coordination of all administrative duties. Serves as clinical resource, liaison to physicians, and demonstrates effective communication skills. Able to develop, and implement successfully new programs. Performs on-going data collection, audits, QA and corresponding reports.
