International Shoppes is a duty free and specialty retailer that has operated airport retail and duty-free facilities since 1951. Our Company is all about delivering the best service and product assortment to the traveling public.
We are currently located in New York's JFK International Airport; Terminals 1, 5 and 8, Boston's Logan International Airport; Terminals A, B, C and E; Washington DC's Dulles International Airport; Terminal B, Baltimore's International Thurgood Marshall Airport; Concourse A-B, Connecticut's Bradley International Airport; Main Terminal, and in the fall of 2019, we have proudly opened our doors in Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport; Terminal D. Our Corporate office and warehouse are located in Valley Stream, NY.
This position is responsible for managing sales of the company's products and services by facilitating the achievement of sales goals and training programs for Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers. Ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues by leading and motivating the selling team, identifying objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and earnings.
Drive and exceed sales goals
Lead the push toward selling through coaching and recognition
Review and utilize reports; implement action plans focusing on deficient areas
Identify best sellers and key items; communicate merchandise needs to optimize sales
Ensure accuracy of promotional presentation; communicate advertising/promotion and sales information to Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers.
Review & utilize sales reports to provide recognition; develop & communicate strategies to improve results
Enforce compliances among staff and establish high level of awareness and effectiveness to ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented
Work with sales force to move through old or aging inventory to create space for new SKU's.
Coach Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers to consistently deliver effective selling behaviors resulting in high customer engagement
Observe Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers daily through formal observations focusing on selling behaviors; ensure Advisors are providing an outstanding shopping experience to all customers
Coach to Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers coaching recap metrics weekly through daily informal observations defining one focus metric and behaviors to improve an individual metric
Ensure optimum sales floor coverage and lead selling initiatives throughout the store as needed
Maintain high customer readiness standards; deliver a clean, neat and easy to shop store environment
Partner with HR and vendors to recruit a qualified selling-focused team; build a bench for future advancements & promotions
Ensure all training is conducted on a timely basis, ensure assigned supervisors engage with new hires
Coach on product knowledge by holding in-store product training with Vendor Representatives
Meet with Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers in department weekly; identify top sellers and talk about opportunities
Utilize review process as a tool for talent development
Monitor and address performance issues on a timely basis
Address Beauty Advisors/Retail Managers in a reasonable and fair manner, consistent with the values expected by the Company
Ensure an effective and efficient communication between all Beauty Department Supervisors/Retail Managers and the Buying Team.
4+ years related retail management experience within cosmetics/fragrances/skin care industry.
Experience in managing 50+ employees in a high-volume cosmetics retail environment preferred.
Bachelor Degree preferred.
Ability to empower and develop a team.
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies.
