We are a production bakery and need someone who is ready to tackle a large volume of pie baking on a daily basis. This is not the position for someone who thinks it would be fun to try something new...you need to know that you love to bake. We are looking for a Baker for our Pie Department. Baker responsibilities include managing daily orders, mixing dough, preparing fillings and baking...every day. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious pies to our customers on a daily basis. Hourly wage plus split tips.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily orders
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
- Bake different pies, including both sweet and savory
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Mix various ingredients to create fillings for pies
- Prepare custom-made pies based on holiday specials or customers’ preferences
- Track food supplies and communicate when supplies need to be ordered
Skills
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role encouraged but not required
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers and blenders
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
