Nike HR Operational Services is the engine powering the full suite of HR services. These services include the activation and delivery of all HR strategies in support of a growing workforce with over 70,000 employees across the globe.
Within HR Services, the HR Operations & Risk Management team maintains a sustainable model of operational risk management. As the HR Vendor Management and Policy Director, you will play a critical role in partnering with Nike’s HR Operations Leadership team to develop and activate a comprehensive vendor and policy offense. You will partner with Nike Legal, Nike Procurement, and Nike Technology to drive accountability for all HR buyers of licenses, goods or services across a suite of third party vendors supporting Nike HR. You will also work closely with internal and external partners to inventory, review and govern HR related policies.
In this role, it will be essential to drive alignment across multiple HR strategic and functional teams. You will need to think quickly and act decisively. You will partner with HR leadership to intentionally evolve and build a team of experts based on strategy and demand.
You will be responsible for understanding and articulating financial and performance metrics for the delivery of services performed by Nike HR’s vendors. This may include participating in or facilitating vendor business reviews when internal partners need support. The service we provide will be fact-based, informed by data – and with the intent of continuous improvement for both Nike partners and our vendors.
Drive the evolution of strategic HR vendor management at Nike
Participate in the development of vendor performance governance focusing on strategic value, account management, innovation and relationship management
Utilize specialized expertise to minimize compliance risks while increasing capacity of HR operational services
Partner with policy and risk management teams across Nike to ensure HR policies are consistent with the brand
Partner with HR Compliance to ensure employee handbooks are accurately maintained and relevant
Develop trusted relationships across the organization to effectively educate and influence risk and control issues as it relates to vendors and HR policies
Anticipate roadblocks, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide practical approaches to problem solving
Support HR partners through the navigation of Nike processes across Legal, Procurement, and Governance
Identify areas for HR Vendor engagement and policy process improvement
Identify areas where internal operational process changes may be valuable
Serve as a point of escalation for vendor and policy related issues
Advocate adherence to financial aspects of the HR Portfolio and the impacts it may have on vendors
Ensure vendors understand and follow Nike purchasing processes
Partner with HR finance teams to validate vendor invoices and navigate any dispute discussions
Monitor compliance with contract pricing schedules, reports, and deliverables
Evaluate service delivery performance with comparisons of cost, productivity, and quality across vendors to inform future sourcing decisions and strategies
Advise in the areas of contract analysis, after action reviews, and vendor maturity assessments
Expert in areas of vendor management and governance processes including strategic planning, financial interpretation, risk analysis, negotiation, market comparisons and resolution of vendor contractual issues.
Minimum of 12+ years professional experience with increasing and relevant responsibilities
Preferred candidates will have a combination of experience across consulting, a national law firm, corporate in-house counsel, or other relevant business experience
Experience operating regulatory frameworks related to HR programs and policies for multinational companies
Knowledge of HR Software and HR Consulting providers
Proven experience in areas of vendor relationships, project management, and performance management
Ability to lead, coach, inspire a team of indirect reports, vendors, and eventually direct reports
Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
Ability to lead cross functional initiatives and project teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
