Position Summary: This role is responsible for talent acquisition, on boarding, payroll and benefits administration, leave management, worker’s compensation, employee relations, training/development, safety, performance management, employment law compliance and communications. This position requires HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment. The desired candidate will be a team player, provide great customer service, is a problem solver with critical thinking skills, possesses good communication skills in both verbal and written form, has a keen eye for detail, and is experienced with HR and Payroll systems.
Coordinate all stages of the hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing and screening applications, conducting interviews.
Oversee background checks and drug screens while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
Assist in implementing and administering HR policies and procedures in accordance with the organization's overall goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.
Address employee conflicts and complete investigations as required, while working with management to administer employee discipline or corrective action when needed.
Deliver a high level of confidentiality, along with honest, trustworthy and ethical behavior.
Responsible for ensuring compliance, monitoring and updating Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification); maintain files for Form I-9’s
Responsible for new hire on-boarding, including the administration and communication of the company’s benefits program in regard to plan options, policy features, and other requirements.
Maintain all HR data systems, including both electronic and physical records. Maintain integrity of data in HR and Payroll systems. Maintain employee files in an organized and efficient manner
Respond to routine and complex employee inquiries and needs as expressed by phone or e-mail in a timely manner
Assists with preparation and distribution of employee announcements and updates; maintain all standard and digital HR bulletin boards in the facility, ensuring all communications are up-to-date.
Helps to plan and coordinate employee relations events and activities, as well as employee activities committee events including company picnics, retirements and appreciation lunches.
Communicates regularly with employees and outside contacts to answer questions, provide information, complete paperwork, etc.; respond to inquiries and complaints regarding associate-related issues and initiate action to resolve valid complaints/requests.
Report near misses, first aid and OSHA Recordable injuries.
Data collection for monthly safety compliance meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with an emphasis on human resources or business administration.
Minimum of 3-5+ years of HR Generalist experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and a high volume of activity.
Recruiting experience, preferred
Highly proficient in MS Office skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn.
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to develop clear, concise and accurate responses in communications to internal and external customers.
