Gallery Research & Sales Associate

Anthony Meier Fine Arts is seeking an organized and experienced individual to work alongside owner and gallery directors in all aspects of day-to-day proceedings. This multifaceted position requires a poised and professional demeanor in person and on the phone, familiarity with gallery operations and the art world, strong written and oral communication skills, and an ability to work in a demanding environment while maintaining precise attention to detail. The most important aspect of this position is an exemplary sense of professionalism and the ability to proactively problem solve.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assist Directors with research materials and digital sales presentations
  • Facilitate and track consignment paperwork and deadlines
  • Coordinate art fair participation
  • Serve as an artist liaison for select gallery artists
  • Assist with research and administration of special projects
  • Assist with provenance research for secondary market artworks
  • Coordinate and respond to appraisal requests
  • Respond to various client requests for information (past sales, image requests, etc.).
  • Travel and attends art fairs as needed
  • Greet and liaise with gallery visitors
  • Coordinate with framers and conservators
  • Facilitate occasional backroom presentations
  • Assist with database input and maintenance


The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and hard working with the ability to handle whatever task is put before them with efficiency and attention to detail while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach.

Candidate should have, at minimum, a BA in Art History or related field and at least three years of related professional experience. Familiarity with Artbase or a similar database program is ideal.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with hours from 9 am until 5 pm with occasional nights and weekends required.
