Title: DIGITAL LEAD, BUSINESS SOLUTIONS - UTILITY OPS
How do you fit in?
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Digital Business Solutions – Utilities Operations, you will leverage business process and technology expertise to support our key business stakeholders (Utility Operations) in pursuit of strategies that drive operational excellence for your respective portfolio of applications. In this role you will be responsible for on-going engagement, management of demand backlogs, and delivery of digital sustainment services, and ensuring those processes serve our current business needs. You will play an essential role in driving value delivery from our application management services (AMS) outsourcing arrangements and helping to shorten the path to value-realization in everything we do!
What you’ll be doing:
- As a visible champion and promoter of our core values, you’ll actively engage with your digital team members and business partners, “rolling your sleeves up” to achieve results.
- You’ll help our US Utilities businesses transform by leveraging technology to accelerate value delivery across the enterprise.
- You’ll be a key member of the “run” component of our “plan, build, run” delivery model for your area of domain expertise, by maintaining a stable application landscape which supports our business operations.
- You’ll ensure regular Digital alignment with your business stakeholders, ensuring broad understanding of business strategies, activities, drivers, requirements, and system enhancement demands.
- You’ll support the management & prioritization of business needs and consolidate sustainment demand across your area of domain expertise, maintaining product backlogs that reflect the current organizational priorities and bring visibility to the resource requirements necessary to achieve our objectives
- You’ll coordinate the delivery of Digital services across your area of responsibilities by our outsourcing service providers, ensuring value is realized from the contracted delivery services
- You’ll support application operations, testing, and issue resolution, ensuring our digital team acts with a “sense of urgency” in response to normal or emergent/incident needs
- You’ll assist in the conduct of Root Cause Analysis in response to incidents, ensuring a continuous learning and improvement environment is maintained.
- You’ll proactively support processes for risk identification and mitigation across the application portfolio, ensuring continuous improvement in our Digital risk posture
- You’ll help to drive innovation, by relentlessly pursuing research and assessment of new approaches, technologies and solutions, and evaluating them for potential use across Utilities
- You’ll possess a passion for lifelong learning.
What you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience with supporting business processes, product ownership, business analysis, and/or the support of business applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer first service approach.
- Experience working with 3rdparty vendor support resources.
- Utility experience is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to effectively interact with and communicate with business partners at every level throughout the organization.
- Specific experience supporting Utility Operations business partners delivering one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Meter and Service Operations, Below Ground Construction, Asset Mgmt, Work Mgmt, Field Operations & Dispatch support, GIS applications, SAP ECC, SAP CRM, SAP Work Management, SAP Device Management, SAP Device Management or SAP MM.
- Knowledge and/or experience working in an agile delivery approach.
- Knowledge and experience using data to gain insights which drive favorable business outcomes
- Superior organizational and prioritization skills
Where you’ll be working:
This position will be located in our Utility Headquarters, located in Springfield, VA, with the expectation that you will be onsite two (2) days per week. Some domestic US travel may be required.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
