Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field of study preferred
6+ years of experience in a similar marketing, sales, promotions or advertising role required
Retail, sports, recreation or outdoors experience preferred
Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create thorough documentation and interface effectively with individuals at various levels
Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision
Strong presentation skills, with the ability to independently and effectively lead and administer meetings
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate with a sense of urgency
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
Partner with District Managers and Store Directors in assigned region to provide marketing expertise and ensure consistent execution of marketing programs at the store level
Develop and lead special projects for the Regional team pertaining to key categories such as Team Sports, Field and Stream and Vendor marketing programs.
In partnership with the Regional Marketing Managers help facilitate consistent team operating systems as it relates to budgeting, program reporting/recaps and overall process improvements.
Lead in providing bi-weekly marketing updates for your respective Region working with you Region’s Specialists to roll up and report on specific marketing activity/programs being planned and executed.
Develop partnerships with local community influencers and organizations that result in positive Brand perceptions and drive traffic/trial with assigned region
Provide regional strategies and create tactics to amplify and localize corporate Brand message through programs and partnerships that drive traffic and build customer relationships
Monitor competitor activity and provide competitive intelligence by region/market
Develop, plan and execute programs/events to support company priorities locally in order to maximize opportunities and minimize risks
Partner with internal stakeholders to execute grand opening plans and events for new stores in assigned region – provide market knowledge to drive localization and leverage community partnerships from opening through comp store
Identify and evaluate new marketing opportunities in assigned region
Partner with communications, community relations and media stakeholders to:
Drive community engagement that results in “earned media”
Ensure localization of message/timing across media channels
Inform store operations of marketing support plans
Oversee and manage local budgets for assigned region
Partner with store operations for execution of programs and events
Support marketing projects and initiatives for additional regions as needed
Physical Requirements & Attendance
Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
Ability to lift up to thirty pounds unaided
Regular attendance required
Up to 50% travel, as needed
Ability to provide in-person support and coordination of promotional events on nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs
