Basic Qualifications

Logistics Loss Prevention Manager Intern

This internship is not a corporate role based out of Seattle, internship placement will be in Lisle, IL OR Atlanta, GA.

The Logistics Team is seeking an enthusiastic, customer obsessed Loss Prevention Manager Intern to provide support for leading the effort to efficiently and effectively provide security services and asset (lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, & intellectual property) protection in a designated area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Drive Standard Work and Continuous Improvement through an intern project
  • Ensure internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements related to area are fulfilled
  • Assist with investigations of internal and external theft and fraud when appropriate
  • Ensure that you understand, align performance and actions with and can clearly articulate the vision and values of the organization and their department
  • Meet or surpass your objectives that align with security service model
  • Identify, promote and implement security best practices in a designated GSF site.
  • Serve as department’s liaison and security subject matter expert for facility management keeping them abreast of key issues, strategies and the department’s performance
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to drive process improvements and increase efficiency
  • Effectively partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes and initiatives
  • Coordinate data collection, through database polling or data entry, from multiple DC; and conduct analysis generating strategic and tactical interpretations
  • Inspire performance excellence on the part of all security services team members.
  • Work weekends and/or overnight shifts as necessary
Perform the following tasks, with our without reasonable accommodation:
o Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
o Walk in/ around the warehouse with great frequency (many facilities are over a quarter mile in length)
o Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation)
o Regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach below the waist and above the head
o Lift and move totes weighing up to 49 pounds each

  • 3+ years of experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or other related field
  • Knowledge of security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, etc.
  • Experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts desired and certification
  • Working towards a Master’s Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Asset Protection or other related field
  • Strong familiarity with data bases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, Exception Based Reporting, etc.
  • Interviewing and Interrogation experience desired and Wicklander and Zulawski certification
  • Experience with logistics and/or transportation center services
  • Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
