General Manager (GM)
Wheel & Sprocket is a nationally-recognized specialty bicycle retailer with robust brick+mortar and online presence. The General Manager position oversees all activity at the store level and is part of the inner circle of management for the company aiding the executive team on operational and strategic initiatives. A multi-faceted job, the General Manager must be connected to the unique culture of the company, build a productive team, and be a leader in the local cycling community. A successful General Manager creates great energy and understands Wheel & Sprocket’s mission to share our passion for cycling to make a positive difference in our community, and can translate that into overall P+L excellence.
Job Description

- Profit and loss excellence
- Overall directly-responsible-individual (DRI) for store profitability
- Expense control
- Payroll excellence
- Financial accuracy (process and operational compliance)
- Sales and margin excellence
- Be a top-three sales person at store, every month
- Drive sales excellence at all levels within store
- Team Leadership
- Hire/train/lead a highly effective store-level team
- Customer experience excellence
- Manage store experience from entrance to exit
- Responsible for store reputation (reviews/emails)
- Community outreach (teams/corporate partners/ambassadors/events/rides)
- Engage with executive team and other GM peers to contribute to overall company strategy, processes, sustainability

Requirements
- 7+ years specialty retail experience, bicycle industry preferred
- Technology platforms: Google Apps (email, calendar, drive)
Other Notes
This position is based at our Middleton store location, but requires the willingness to travel to other locations or off-site events and meetings several times per year.
