Restaurant District Manager | Up to 120,000/year
BUONA is seeking a District Manager to serve as a member of its leadership team, driving strategic growth of the organization with a creative, forward-thinking approach to both short-term and long-term objectives.
The District Manager administers, directs and oversees the effective recruitment and development of employees among 5 to 6 restaurants. He or she is directly responsible for ensuring the proper implementation and effective application of all operational standards including order accuracy, speed of service, product quality, cleanliness and most importantly, Guest Service.
He or she must demonstrate sufficient application of knowledge and leadership, always remain engaged and in tune with guest and employee needs and drive the continuous improvement of overall store operations.
Principal Responsibilities and Key Activities:
Leads Operational Excellence and the Guest Service Commitment:
- Leads by example and oversees a territory of restaurants to ensure alignment with our Brand Vision, Mission, Culture, and Core Values while meeting financial goals and ensuring guest satisfaction where there is a sense of urgency
- Ensure that each restaurant delivers consistent value and excellence to its guests
- Guides and assists new restaurants in the territory from pre-opening through post opening support in a way that the restaurant meets or exceeds stated operational and financial goals
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements effective solutions
- Upholds company food safety, food handling and sanitation requirements, to ensure the health and safety of our guests and team members.
- Cultivates a culture of positivity, gratitude and growth within the team
- Creates, analyzes and takes action on reporting on key performance indicators
- Learns quickly, challenges the status quo and seeks new and better ways to solve problems
Develops Team Talent:
- Recruits and retains high-performing teams utilizing a combination of internal development and external recruitment strategies
- Coaches and develops talented managers and employees through ongoing feedback, goal planning, training, communication and setting clear expectations
- Builds a bench of future leaders
- Understands performance criteria and holds self and team accountable through effective coaching and regular courageous feedback
- Evaluates overall performance of Managers, GMITs and team members based on clearly communicated standards and expectations
- Empowers the Team to make decisions that are in the best interest of the guest and the company
Drives Sales Growth:
- Consistently displays a sales culture that increases sales and guest counts while safeguarding and exceeding the needs of our guests and team members
- Thinks creatively to discover and seize business opportunities
- Projects a competitive spirit and a drive to succeed through having pride and expertise in sales building
- Coordinate with, report and make recommendations to senior management in order to grow market share, improve guest experience and drive growth
- Develop and execute marketing plans to boost sales growth, analyze sales and expenses to meet margin targets, and share best practices to enhance Company operations
Manages Controllables and Restaurant Compliance:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including profit loss statements, to identify areas for growth and/or improvement
- Identifies trends in financial results and action plans to address underperforming areas
- Understands the critical nature of making logical and timely decisions under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
- Possesses the skills necessary to review various reports and determine business actions and needs in response
Plans and Communicates:
- Proactively plans appointments and assignments to anticipate needs, meet deadlines and pivot as the need arises
- Conducts regular restaurant visits of varying length to ensure best-in-class operations, hospitality, training, financial success, safety and compliance with company standards and policies
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects
- Understands the importance of creating and executing an actionable plan to achieve goals
- Clearly conveys important information and ideas and influences others to align with strategies and tactics
Requirements:
3+ years in multi-unit management, preferably in a quick service restaurant (QSR) environment.
Other Qualifications:
- College degree in business or a closely related field
- Displays Leadership courage when required to create success
- Servant Leadership style
- Self-motivated
- Technologically competent, especially related to POS systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Effective written, verbal, and math skills
- Ability to travel by car reliably between restaurants within a designated district
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Serve-Safe certified
- Ability to work on one’s feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance
