Manages the daily operations of the department and supervises staff to include: training, development, hiring and performance assessment. In collaboration with the Director of Imaging Services, develops, implements and monitors systems, policies and procedures to maintain and improve quality, cost effectiveness and customer
1.Responsible for daily operations of NRMC including administrative, financial, compliance and technical components.
2.Supervises staff to include; training, development, hiring and performance assessment. Ensures all staff are assigned the appropriate level of work. Allocates the workload of all areas to ensure that all service areas are covered. Adjusts assignments to compensate for changes in workload.
3.Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements including but not limited to Joint Commission, ACR, and State of Connecticut.
4.Prepares and monitors capital and operating budgets, manages expenses, monitors budget variances and implements corrective action when necessary. Monitors financial status, billing and reimbursement.
5.Responsible for overseeing operation of imaging information management systems including but not limited to PACS.
6.Identifies need for and coordinates training of technical and support staff as needed.
7.Develops and implements an on-going marketing and public relations program.
8.Coordinates Performance Improvement activities.
9.In collaboration with the Director of Imaging Services, develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure quality, compliance, safety and customer service.
10.Monitors and promotes a strong customer service focus. Provides leadership for continuous improvement in patient access, Press Ganey and HCAHP scores, turnaround times and physician satisfaction.
11.Ensures safe environment for staff and patients.
12.Interviews, hires, orients, coaches, evaluates and manages performance issues for direct reports, holding supervisors responsible and accountable for their assigned areas of responsibility.
13.Promotes a work environment that fosters employee development, promotes self-directed teams and establishes communication processes. Regularly meets with supervisory team and staff to ensure
communication and the proper processes and procedures.
14.Develops and implements tactics to support achievement of organizational goals, including but not limited to patient experience, employee engagement, financial strength and quality/safety and service.
15.Assumes on-call administrative duties as assigned.
16.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
17.Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires a minimum formal education of Bachelor Degree, a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience in imaging modalities and a minimum of three years of progressive supervisory experience in Financial and billing background. It requires an active CT Radiographer License - American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
