SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Operations Stafffor SMG/ The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex.

This position's primary functions under General Supervision, oversees the maintenance, operation and repair of furniture, fixtures, basic electrical items, etc. performs semi-skilled duties including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and welding, operation of movie projector and Qubica bowling system, knowledge of facility and ability to perform janitorial duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Repair and maintain thermostat, fixtures, electrical switches, furniture, lawn equipment and plumbing items including toilets, sinks, water fountains, drainage pipes and sprinkler systems.
Clean and replace filters, vents and ducts.
Cut/trim grass, as needed.
Record all work performed. Maintain log of all maintenance and repair activities.
Assist other Operation Department divisions to expedite set up and tear down events whenever possible.
Respond to visual and audible alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, explosives, and risk of radiation. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Clean restrooms, windows and doors. Put out paper towels, tissue, soap as needed. Clean front office two times a day. Clean Maintenance Area, break room, sweep, mop and vacuum carpet daily in theater. Pick up outside of building for trash. Run machine as needed on skating floor.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Skills required

Position requires ability to:
  • Break down, set-up movie reels
Possess necessary knowledge and skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, HVAC and irrigation.
Technical knowledge of bowling operations, repair, movie projector operations.
Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of all tools, equipment, methods, practices, and materials of trades involved in facility operations.
Understand and work from general instructions and specifications and follow blueprints, ketches and preventative maintenance schedules.
Follow all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Maintain an effective relationship with clients, employees, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED; and at least 1 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Abilities

Good oral and written commutation skills

Other Qualifications

Must be able to work an irregular schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
