Our client, a leading health insurer serving 2 million people in the Pacific Northwest, has asked us to find them a senior-level systems administrator to make sure that their big data and data science efforts go off without a hitch. If you’re our expert, you’ll be leading a team as it responds to issues and troubleshoots systems underlying the hot area of big data and analytics. You’ll play a critical role in keeping these platforms up, running, optimized, and secured. In the end, your work will serve health plan members and help reinvent healthcare.

THE WORK: The work includes:
Responding to issues at all levels of the big data stack including client/server, middleware, applications, hardware, and operating system
Leading a team as they troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis to resolve complex problems
Communicating between application developers, customers, and other IT team members while developing the documentation required to support that task
Consulting with other technical folks regarding best practices for implementing business applications, hardware, and operating systems
Managing critical IT projects, including recurring work and software/hardware enhancements
Ensuring timely project completion
Monitoring systems, diagnosing issues, and distributing work to the team

Sorry, but given the critical nature of your environments, you must be able and willing to provide 24/7 support.

LOCATION: This company is based just outside of Seattle, Washington giving you the benefits of that great city without the hassles that come with commuting into it. This is one of the coolest areas in the US - A diverse community that is home to some of the world's technology leaders, including Amazon, Boeing, and Microsoft. MODE: This is a permanent position.

DURATION: Permanent

REQUIRED: Applicants must have:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or Business Administration, OR four (4) years’ of related work experience
Five-plus (5+) years' experience in information technology
Experience managing Linux and Windows environments
Senior-level technical knowledge that includes exposure to: Hardware troubleshooting ITIL standards Operating systems Hardware support Active directory and group policy Networks Microsoft Office Application or system-monitoring tools (SCOM or Nagios are desirable) Scripting for server maintenance and process execution (PowerShell, Visual Basic, Etc.)

DESIRED: In addition, it would be great (but not necessary) if you had:
A+, MCP, MCSA or MCSE certification
A basic understanding of healthcare insurance and claim processing
Exposure to large-scale, clustered systems
Experience with DataStage, Attunity, or other ETL technologies

COMPENSATION: We know that folks like you are in demand. So, our client has crafted an attractive compensation package. The right candidate for this role can expect a salary of $110,000 - $120,000 plus eligibility for 10% annual bonuses.
