This position is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and evaluating the success of integrated communications and marketing plans, projects and initiatives that drive awareness of the District’s brand and services among various audiences and stakeholders. This role will also be accountable for managing and executing campaigns, evaluating reach and performance through analytics, developing dashboards, and coordinating campaign development initiatives. Primary focus areas consist of working collaboratively and cross functionally to build and optimize traditional marketing and digital marketing (SEM, SEO, display, mobile, social, email, etc.) This position is responsible for collaborating across the Communications team to write, edit and manage content with strong visual messaging and be a proficient writer for varying audience reading levels and constituencies. Work requires extensive contact and excellent public relations skills in communicating with District staff, community agencies, the general public, internal and external stakeholders, and media representatives. Incumbents are responsible for research and maintenance of a wide variety of data for District use. Work requires independent judgment and initiative.

Proven experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
Develops and provides strategic and operational oversight of communications and marketing campaigns and initiatives about the District and its programs for internal and external audiences.
Performs market research and analytics that includes tracking and maintaining metrics, including dashboards, graphing and charting numbers, with the goal of improving ROI.
Writes and develops content for a variety of publications and materials, including annual benefit reports, brochures, flyers, poster presentations, fact sheets, templates, signage and press releases.
Explore, test, and refine innovative new approaches designed to engage customers at all levels of their digital experience.
Develops, designs and publishes community publications to help increase public awareness of Health Care District programs and activities.
Develops Requests for Proposals (RFP) for major projects.
Works with outside vendors and suppliers per District policies and procedures to support the execution of communications and marketing initiatives.
Spearheads effort for Health Care District eligibility for various local, regional and national awards programs to gain progressively positive prestige positioning of Health Care District and Board members.
Serves as Public Information Officer in the absence of the Public Information Officer for all media inquiries, information gathering, and emergency/disaster communications.
Monitors relevant news, social media and industry stories and articles and provides clipping service to senior leadership and Board members.
Develops, monitors and maintains District’s branding guidelines, including the District’s logos and the logos of the District’s programs.
Provides support and planning for internal and external initiatives, public events and activities.
Assists District departments in promotional campaigns to increase awareness of various District programs.
Assists District departments and staff in preparing and giving presentations, when requested.
Supports the Director of Communications in press conferences, public hearings, and special community meetings.
Generates articles regarding District activities at the direction of the Director of Communications.
Researches, writes, edits, and periodically updates accurate, pertinent, and readable copy for internal and external media outlets and publications.
Attends conferences, workshops, and meetings, when requested.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Public or Business Administration, or related field required.
More than four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, digital marketing and graphics and design, with demonstrated personal attributes necessary to work harmoniously with professional people, including District staff, providers (news related information), media, and general public; experience in the health care industry and/or government sector is desirable.
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
