Job Summary

Our front-counter associates interact and assist customers of our independent, family-owned community pharmacy. At the front-counter, you are the first point of contact with our patients and will have the opportunity to personalize and assist with their shopping experience.

Qualifications

Experience Required: 0 to 6 months of retail, merchandising or pharmacy sales
Experience Desired: 6+ months of retail or pharmacy store work; experience in retail, merchandising, sales preferred
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Age Requirement: 18+ years of age
Lifting Requirement: Up to 30 pounds

Prefer previous retail experience, good computer skills, and knowledge of store inventory control

Job Responsibilities

Welcome and acknowledge all patients and customers that enter the store promptly and with courteous customer service skills
Perform clerk duties and finalize sales using a cash register- must complete training in the sales of general merchandise, lottery, cigarettes, over-the-counter medications, and healthcare supplies and devices according to established point-of-sale procedures and policies. Additional duties as assigned by the manager during seasonal set up are required.
Maintain proper inventory levels by assisting with orders while using point of sale system, reviewing and adjusting order points and quantities, and performing on-hand counts
Maintain whole-store cleanliness and organization in coordination with your team members
Assist front-counter and pharmacy team members with tasks to ensure all departments run smoothly and efficiently
Have the ability to stand, bend and lift merchandise for restocking, including standing and walking for long hours
Maintain a neat and clean work environment to ensure company and government safety requirements are met
Follow all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations, including lottery and tobacco sales
Model excellent patient care and customer service by respecting and enthusiastically engaging with customers and patients, including offering assistance with and directing to products and merchandise and referring appropriate questions concerning over the counter medications to the pharmacist
