This position is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of the training and development activities across all areas of the South Division. They will develop and administer company training related to leadership, career development and growth, and interpersonal skills. Under the strategic guidance of the Director of Talent Management, this position will partner with subject matter experts, HR leaders, field and senior leaders to identify training needs, develop and conduct a variety of training topics ranging from leadership, customer service, sales, communications, coaching, performance management, diversity, etc. The goal of this position is to help ensure that Airgas South Division is developing the needed skills and capabilities of our employees to support a high performance organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute the South Division talent development strategy
Lead a variety of training and development initiatives for the division
Develop, execute and manage development initiatives for enhancing and leveraging leadership capabilities; leadership 360s, management training, executive coaching and mentoring
Develop and manage development plans for critical role and high potentials focused on internal mobility, advancing leaders and succession planning
Consult with field leaders to understand employee skill gaps and offer learning solutions
Partner with others within the Airgas talent development community for assistance with developing learning solutions and resources that positively impact results
Execute and manage divisional training initiatives to ensure regional adoption
Train all employee levels of the organization from new hires to veteran employees
Conduct needs assessments within the business units & with the Human Resources Director (HRD) to evaluate current skills against business objectives and develop programs to close skill gaps.
Create training materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, experiential learning activities, role play scenarios, and training presentations
Identify and develop partnerships with external developmental resources; and conduct external research and benchmarking to ensure content and delivery models are positioned to deliver best-in-class results
Develop ways to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of development programs and modify as needed
Support the development experience of the three (3) trainee programs in partnership with region leaders to drive consistency and ensure candidate readiness for off-program positions

BA/BS degree in related discipline preferred or equivalent of experience in training & development
Experience conducting training to both operations-based and corporate based employees
Experience managing training across multiple locations in a wide geographical area
Required Length & Type of Experience:
3-5 years of developing and delivering training programs to a wide range of audiences and aligning curriculum with business outcomes and realizing measurable impact
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Business partner approach to identifying organizational training needs.
Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and execute the talent development strategy
Some knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies and tools.
Proven track record of delivering soft skills training personally and through the use of external vendors.
Develop and assess training materials for learning effectiveness.
Strong training facilitation with proven ability to deliver training to various groups of employees
Ability to manage a variety of development programs and initiatives while effectively leveraging organizational resources
Demonstrated experience and passion for supporting individual and organizational growth; track record of implementing best practices in the field
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both informally and formally
Collaborative and strong ability to connect and influence multiple leadership levels
Critical thinker and problem solver with strong project management skills
Strong customer service-based approach to work and strong relationship building skills
Ability to maintain confidential information

Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Knowledge and experience creating training courses in multiple platforms (Instructor-led training and virtual-led training).
Proficient in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint); e-learning software is a plus.
