Vapor Bus International, strives to be the leader in providing passenger door systems and related accessories systems to the transit bus industry. The Project Manager in our New Product Development group, will play a key role bringing industry-leading products to market. A person who is a self-starter and comfortable juggling multiple projects concurrently with minimal oversight. Must have a passion to exceed our expectations when it comes to overseeing the development of products that meet our customer needs while being able to maintain tight schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Accountable for completion of new product development projects from initial research & development though implementation and production launch phases

Ensure cost, schedule, and performance objectives are met for each project

Work with cross-functional internal resources (sales, marketing, testing, manufacturing, quality, purchasing) as they relate to the project or product

Coordinate the activities of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to complete necessary prototypes, designs and documentation

Work with third party vendors and/or partners to find product solutions

Develop internal test plans that meet both company and industry regulations

Perform technical feasibility, cost/benefit studies and assess make/buy strategies

Provide strong leadership to ensure all phases in the product development process are completed

Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under fast-paced development lifecycles. Broad range of experience and technical depth that can be applied to a broad range of problems. Knowledge in both low and high-volume manufacturing processes including sheet metal, extrusion (metal and polymer), welding, machining, castings, forgings and injection molding. Excellent MS Project skills (including MS Project server). Working knowledge of CAD 3D modeling, Creo preferred. Understanding of Stage Gate and NPD processes. Experience in the transit vehicle industry a plus.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA preferred, 5 years experience in leading projects involving product development, preferably in electro-mechanical and/or pneumatic systems. Software a plus.
