Corporate Vendor Management's (CVM) Sourcing teams at Charles Schwab & Co. are responsible for implementing a firm-wide, end-to-end vendor relationship management process to maximize vendor performance and value. Corporate VSM identifies, mitigates, monitors, and manages vendor risk; and assists Schwab in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.
What you’ll do:
The IT Category Managing Director is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies and processes in alignment with Schwab’s business unit goals, corporate standards and policies to maximize the value of Schwab’s third parties relationships while minimizing risk. Accountabilities include working with Schwab executive management to identify, and align category sourcing priorities, objectives, allocation resources and integration processes with various risk and technology organizations. As a part of the Sourcing Leadership team, develop the organizations talent plan, standard practices for category planning, sourcing and negotiation methodologies. This position reports to the Managing Director of Strategic Sourcing within the Corporate Vendor Management organization.
Lead sourcing activities on strategic projects
Managing current supplier relationships while driving performance improvements in the areas of cost, quality and delivery
Deliver cost savings, and other value in category based on category targets and business goals
Generate annual sourcing projects aligned with business partners to meet their objectives
Develop and implement standardized and best in class sourcing processes across categories and business units.
Develop and support metrics reporting as required
What you have:
10 + years of direct experience with IT Sourcing and 5+ years of management experience
Strong negotiation skills and extensive experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management and risk management.
Advanced oral and written communications skills with a proven track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners including IT decision makers, Risk teams, Finance/Accounting, HR and Legal.
The successful candidate must be naturally inquisitive and open to identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities. Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills required.
Experience with Ariba, Hiperos and access a plus.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
