BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Assist the Sr. Manager, Parts Operations in providing leadership to the site’s warehouse operations team and to driving operational excellence to deliver operational, health and safety, sustainability, quality, and financial targets while ensuring a high degree of customer service / dealer satisfaction. These objectives are achieved, in part, by assisting the Sr. Manager, Parts Operations in the exploration, development, implementation, and execution of new and improved concepts, processes and practices in all areas of the operation. This position requires an analytical, detail oriented and self-motivated individual with strong leadership qualities and distribution warehouse management experience.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
Achieve and maintain a consistently high degree of customer service and support to ensure dealer satisfaction. Manage supervisory staff and available resources to ensure all business objectives are achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
Demonstrate and maintain a heightened emphasis on warehouse storage requirements and inventory control. Ensure proper rotation and accounting of Parts inventory. Achieve a high degree of inbound and outbound goods quality and accuracy to protect and preserve inventory integrity.
Provide a consistently high level of inter-departmental and corporate staff support and assistance. Provide timely and accurate receiving, packaging, shipping and inventory related information and metrics internally and to corporate support staff as requested and/or as appropriate.
Evaluate all warehouse activities and interpret related data to ensure desired performance standards are achieved and maintained. Manage and report warehouse performance results utilizing spreadsheets and various other measurement and tracking mechanisms to track staff productivity, efficiency, on-time delivery, and quality to enhance overall operational performance, identify cost savings opportunities, and achieve company goals.
Expand knowledge base and awareness of key business developments by attending / participating in business discussion, conferences and meetings as requested.
Responsible for managing and reporting warehouse attendance, scheduling of ETO, etc.
Provide annual performance reviews for subordinate supervisory staff.
Assist the Sr. Manager in mentoring, coaching and further development of supervisory staff and employees for improved performance.
Provide Sr. Manager with warehouse budget recommendations annually or as requested or otherwise needed. Responsible for managing the warehouse within allocated financial guidelines.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field. Substantial equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:
5 years minimum experience and a thorough working knowledge in Warehousing and Logistics, Inventory Management, RF Systems, Material Handling Equipment, Transportation, housekeeping and all pertinent warehouse safety related operating policies and procedures.
5 years minimum leadership and exempt personnel management experience encompassing coaching, counseling, motivation, and development.
Proficiency in systems and software applications including, but not limited to SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and other business solutions. High proficiency with and ability to create, interpret and analyze data and reports, spreadsheets, tables, charts and other various performance tracking mechanisms.
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, clients, and other business areas.
Strong organization, delegation and project management skills.
Ability to conduct operational meetings and deliver performance related power point and/or other presentations as required.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):
Thorough understanding of material handling equipment (Reach Trucks, Order Selectors, Forklifts, etc.) and related operational and safety requirements.
The position will require standing, walking and sitting at a computer.
Ability to work various shifts
Some air travel may be required.
