Full Job Description
The primary purpose of the intern is to support our Engineering/Architectural staff by conducting inspections, surveys, measuring quantities, collecting data, preparing reports and calculations, and performing research. The project types may include roadway paving, water and sewer, parking lot, sidewalk, and curb and gutter improvements for public and private construction. General office work such as scanning and filing may be required. Interns will receive direction, guidance, and mentoring from technical and management staff. Our internship program gives interns hands-on project work experience as well as the opportunity to learn about all facets of the Engineering/Architecture Industry.
POSITION FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESONSIBLITIES
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering or architectural tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgement and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
Perform (or assist in) research, analysis, and design calculations to aid in design-related decision
Prepare sketches, drawings, specifications, plans and other design documentation.
Assist in the development of construction documents under the supervision of a project manager or senior level team member
Other duties as assigned by Project Team Leader
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe PhotoShop and In-Design
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
University student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
