This is a part-time SEASONAL position with no benefits and no guarantee of number of hours. Work will be performed as needed.
Minimum Starting Salary: $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
NATURE OF WORK:
Manage state, local and private grants for Harry P. Leu Gardens. Coordinate with Leu Gardens staff to ensure compliance with all grant requirements, completion of all grant deliverables, and evaluation of outcomes. Research grant programs and write funding applications. Serve as the department’s liaison to the City’s Grants Oversight Committee. This position requires extensive knowledge of grant maker research and grant proposal development along with exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have documented experience showing initiative and creativity in terms of approaching and accomplishing project planning, implementation, and follow-through. Work will be performed for the benefit of Harry P. Leu Gardens and the Friends of Harry P. Leu Gardens, Inc., under the direct supervision of the Gardens’ Executive Director.
Examples of Duties
Oversees grant-funded projects, writes reports, communicates with funders and evaluates success of grant-funded programs.
Operates grant/loan program that supports capital improvement projects funding for general operating support and for special projects.
Conducts interdepartmental meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, coordinate and research grant assignments.
Coordinates and plans funding program activities, including the prioritization, planning and scheduling of activities to guide program efficiency and effectiveness.
Attends quarterly meetings of Grants Oversight Committee and implements the City’s grant policies for Leu Gardens.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field and four years of related experience, two years of which has been spent in grant/loan funding or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a government agency preferred. Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals required.
